Landscape walls, fences and gates will usually separate properties or create a barrier from intrusion. On larger plots of land, if not separating properties, they may contain animals or keep children safe and contained. Retainer walls are used for keeping a hillside from sliding and create drainage at the same time.
All these barriers are made of a variety of natural and man-made materials. Here is a more common list of them:
- Cinder Block walls – come in a variety of shapes and sizes
- Fences – wood, wrought iron, recycled material and vinyl
- Gates – normally wood or wrought iron
- Chain link fencing
When it comes to repairing these walls, fences and gates, pay attention to the main structure of the unit. Most of them are set in concrete or anchored down to concrete. Gates usually need the most repair, due to they are used often and create the mounting to the wall or fence to loosen over time.
